The Clarinda A’s improved their record to 31-4 with a dominating victory over Chillicothe on Friday night at Shaffer Park by a score of 14-3.  Clarinda hammered out 15 hits and scored 4 runs in both and 1st and 3rd innings to run away with the victory.

Zack Stewart, hitting out of the leadoff position, had a 2 for 4 hit for the Mudcats, scoring a run.  Tanner Sears had a hit and an RBI, with Koby Linder scoring a run with a base hit.

Elsewhere in the MINK League on Friday night, Jefferson City won on its home turf, defeating Joplin by a final score of 5-2.

In Saturday night’s action, Chillicothe plays at Clarinda, Joplin at Jefferson City, and Des Moines at St. Joseph, all at 7 o’clock.  Nevada’s season cancellation due to COVID-19 will call off the Sedalia at Nevada scheduled contest.

The MINK League playoffs open on Monday night.  Clarinda has clinched the North Division title and Sedalia the South.  The St. Joseph Mustangs and Chillicothe Mudcats have advanced to the playoffs in the north, with the Joplin Outlaws and Jefferson City Renegades advancing in the south.  While the six teams in the postseason are set, seeding remains to be set this weekend.
