The latest NCMC baseball signee is a standout pitcher from Enterprise Business and Technology High School in New York, NY named Jose Acevedo. He is a right-handed pitcher that has great upside which the Pirates coaching staff is eager to help develop. “I am excited to have Jose join the program. He is a big guy with the potential to throw hard. I see him being an important part of our staff next fall,” commented NCMC Head Coach Donnie Hillerman.
The Pirates have now been able to recruit multiple players from the New York City area in recent years. On the current roster, the Pirates have outfielder Michaelle Collado from the Bronx and pitcher Moses LaFontaine from Brooklyn.
