Indianapolis Ben Davis High School senior defensive back Daylan Carnell has announced a verbal commitment to Eliah Drinkwitz’s football program at Missouri, becoming the 10th commitment in the Tigers 2021 recruiting class, and raising the class ranking to #34 in the country, and #8 in the SEC, according to Rivals.

Carnell chose MU over offers from in-state Big 10 option Purdue, West Virginia, Iowa, Michigan State, and Notre Dame.  He is ranked three stars by 247Sports and four-stars by Rivals, placing him as Mizzou’s second four-star recruit in the class, joining defensive end Travion Ford of St. Louis.

A 6’2″ athlete who plays both wide receiver and cornerback for Ben Davis High, Carnell is the 8th highest ranked recruit in the state of Indiana, and #33 at his position nationally.  He had visited the Missouri campus in early March, shortly before the campus-wide postponement of events, including spring practice, brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.

A three-star defensive end on Missouri’s radar has announced the Tigers as one of his “Top 6”, as Kyran Montgomery narrows his recruitment options to MU, Arizona State, Penn State, Minnesota, Purdue, and Boston College.  Another product out of Indiana, Montgomery is ranked by 247Sports as the #30 weak-side defensive end in the country, and #7 overall recruit from the “Hoosier State”.
