Hurst receives Lifetime Achievement Award at state wrestling championships

A retired coach for the Trenton R-9 School District, Ron Hurst, received an award at the Missouri State Wrestling Championships Saturday in Columbia.

Hurst was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Missouri State High School Activities Association recognizing his dedication and work in support of young athletes and coaches, promotion of wrestling, and helping others to run championship events.

Trenton High School wrestlers won four medals and placed 6th as a team in the class one state wrestling tournament. In their respective weight classes, 2nd place medals went to Hunter McAtee and Caleb Johnson, with Sam Gibson winning 3rd place; and Coleman Griffin taking 4th place.
