The rich NFL playoff history between Houston and Kansas City will add another chapter this Saturday afternoon, with the Texans reaching the AFC divisional round with a 32-12 wild card victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.
The game, matching up the champions of the AFC South and AFC West, was chosen for a Saturday kickoff, with the high-profile showdown between the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills to be played on Sunday night in Orchard Park, New York.
In the other AFC wild card game, Buffalo beat Denver and Baltimore defeated Pittsburgh.
The AFC’s Final Four (Houston, Baltimore, Buffalo, and Kansas City) is the same as 2023, the first such repeat since 2011-12.
Houston will look to avenge a 27-19 Week 16 loss to the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. A win would have the Texans on the road for the AFC Championship Game, with a Chiefs win keeping Kansas City at home to play either the Bills or Ravens on Sunday, January 26th.
