Under Armour All-American wide receiver Isaiah Brevard of Southaven High School in Southaven, Mississippi will be headed to the University of Oregon to play college football, spurning offers from the Missouri Tigers, in addition to Florida State, Georgia, Penn State, and Texas A&M in choosing to join the #5 ranked (247Sports.com) class in the country for 2021.

Brevard was ranked as the second-highest level recruit in Mississippi for 2021, and by choosing the Ducks, fills an off-season need at wide receiver depth for Coach Mario Cristobal in Eugene.  It appears the problem has fixed itself at Oregon, with Brevard becoming the third blue-chip receiver in the class, joining five-star Troy Franklin and Kyron Ware-Hudson.  Other pass catchers committing to the Ducks are tight ends Moliki Matavao and Terrance Ferguson.

The commitment pushes Oregon past USC and LSU for the #5 ranked class in the country, and tops in the Pac-12 Conference, for the time being.   Another highly-rated recruit said to be “leaning Oregon’s way” is four-star defensive lineman Keanu Williams, set to announce his future home on Saturday.

While the news of Brevard’s decision will be considered a disappointment to Mizzou, the level of athlete, combined with overall interest in an out-of-state recruit, made the efforts to reel in the Mississippian to Columbia a difficult one.  For Coach Eli Drinkwitz and his staff, potential future Tigers remain non-committed heading into the summer.

That list includes East St. Louis wide receivers Dominic Lovett and Keontez Lewis, Kansas City (Lincoln Prep) defensive end Tobechi Okoli, Fort Smith, Arkansas cornerback Dreyden Norwood, Indianapolis area defensive end Kyran Montgomery, Minneapolis (North HS) defensive end Davon Townley, and McKinney, Texas defensive end Jonathan Jones; all of whom hold Missouri offers and have reciprocated interest in joining the MU program.
