A number of area high school basketball tournaments are continuing across northern Missouri this week, with the majority of sites seeing consolation semifinals into Wednesday night, followed by semifinals on Thursday.

Starting in Gallatin, the host Bulldog teams are both into the semifinal round after Tuesday night victories.   The Lady Bulldogs cruised past GRC rival Maysville, winning 52-17.  Kallie Salmon led GHS with 16 points, including three shots from behind the arc.  Brynn Bird had 10 points, all coming in a third-quarter scoring blitz.  Ashlyn Klippenstein had 10 points for Maysville.

The Gallatin boys surged from a 20-20 halftime tie to outscore Winston 14-4 in the third quarter, and held on to the advantage in the final quarter for a 43-30 triumph.  Gavin Wilmes had 16 points for Gallatin with Pryce Johnson 10 points.  Winston was paced by Levi Youtsey’s 11 points, with Brayden Watkins 10 points.

In the first game of our KGOZ Tuesday night tripleheader, Polo’s boys kept Trenton winless, claiming a 56-38 quarterfinal victory.  Maverick Gentry led the unbeaten (3-0) Panthers with 21 points while Lucas Crews had 15 points, 13 of those in the opening half.  Trenton (0-2) had 14 points from Kiefer Tolson and 12 from Isaac Dixon, all on three-point shots.
