The Trenton Lady Bulldog golf team provided Richmond’s competition for the Lady Spartans Senior Night festivities on Wednesday afternoon at the Shirkey Golf Course. While only bringing three golfers compared to the 10 from RHS, Trenton showed very well on the “modified nine-hole competition”, with Maci Henson’s 43 good for 2nd place and Josie Chumbley’s 44 for third place, both behind the medalist score of 40 turned in by Richmond’s Alissa Pritchett.
Trenton’s Mari Atup had a score of 50, good for 7th place. Taya Weber of Richmond tied Chumbley at 44, with Tori Bowman of the Lady Spartans also in that 44 deadlock.
Trenton Coach Travis Mullenix said that the teams “played a modified 9 hole match”, turning the course into a “Par 3 with yardages from 100 to 200 yards”. Mullenix praised his three girls, saying all had good days.
