The HDC Conference has announced its All-Conference and honorable mention selections for the 2024 softball season. Gilman City’s Tony Gregg was awarded Coach of the Year honors, after an 8-0 HDC record gave the Ladyhawks the regular season championship. East Harrison finished second in conference play at 6-2, followed by North Mercer’s 4-4 mark, and Tri-County and Grundy R-V/Newtown-Harris both at 1-7.
HDC All-Conference selections include four from Gilman City, with seniors Riah Crump and Kelsey Sperry joined by sophomore Alli Burke and junior Avery Gregg. Two players from East Harrison were chosen, with senior Karlee Crouse and junior Lainey Thompson named to the squad.
The remainder of the squad is made up of Grundy’s Kinsley Allnutt and Adysan Rains, Mercer’s Makenzie Hagan and Riley Stark, and Tri-County’s Alexis Neeley and Allee Prescott.
Two girls were named HDC honorable mention, in East Harrison senior Jayleigh Arndt and Tri-County freshman Lilly Turner.
