The HDC Conference has released selections for all-conference first team and honorable mention status for the 2021 softball season.
Four players from the North Mercer Lady Cardinals were named first team selections, in juniors Kaydee Hill and Summer Martin, and sophomores Emma Shipley and Maddi Fisher. Five players from the Winston Lady Redbirds made the first-team squad, in freshman Shealyn Pliley, sophomore Marissa Uthe, juniors Kortney Estes and Taige Caldwell, and senior Abby Rhoades.
The rest of the HDC first team is made up of East Harrison freshman Karlee Crouse and sophomore Alexis Booth, Gilman City senior Sidney Gibson and sophomore Ava Langfitt, and Tri-County seniors Carly Turner and Anissa Williams.
Four young ladies were named honorable mention All-HDC, in East Harrison freshman Bree Vaughn, Winston junior Megan Christensen, and North Mercer sophomore Breanna Houk and freshman Makenzie Hagan.
Coach Melissa Hill of the North Mercer Lady Cardinals was named the 2021 HDC softball coach of the year.
