The first year of the deal between the Big Ten Conference and CBS hits this fall, with a handful of games in the coveted 2:30 CT time slots this year, with those games becoming a permanent fixture in 2024.
The first football game announced in the Big Ten/CBS marriage will be played at 7 o’clock on the night of Saturday, September 23rd, as the University of Iowa travels to Beaver Stadium in State College, Pennsylvania to play the Penn State Nittany Lions. The game will be Penn State’s annual “White Out” contest, a made-for-TV spectacle that sees over 100,000 fans in attendance wearing all white.
Penn State is 17-14 all-time against Iowa, with a six game winning streak in the series in the 2010’s snapped by back-to-back victories for the Hawkeyes.
The first game on the Big Ten on CBS schedule will be broadcast on Saturday, September 2nd. The Big Ten Conference, with USC and UCLA’s additions coming on July 1, 2024, will soon become a 16-team megaconference stretching from coast to coast that could challenge the Southeastern Conference for the top conference in the U.S.
