The Grundy R-5 girls and boys basketball teams were able to play two of their three scheduled games from a week ago, splitting against Northwestern on Monday, before Mercer won a pair of games in the Galt gym on Thursday night. In between, weather on two separate occasions, postponed the Panthers scheduled road trip to Tina-Avalon.
This week, the Grundy basketball teams are in the Meadville Tournament, playing in quarterfinal round action tonight (Monday night), with the Lady Panthers, seeded #3, battling Northwestern at 7 o’clock, followed by the #6 seed Grundy R-5 boys taking on their opening night opponent, Linn County, in an 8:15 contest. Winners move into the semifinal round on Thursday night, with the losers slumping to the consolation round on Wednesday.
