The Green City boys are ranked second and the Lady Gophers fourth in the first Missouri Basketball Coaches Association (MBCA) polls of the high school season.
Both Gopher teams are 6-0 after a pair of victories on Saturday afternoon over Gallatin to open North Central Missouri College’s annual Holiday Hoops event. The Chillicothe Lady Hornets, having beaten rival Trenton by 20 points on Friday night, sit at #2 (behind Ursuline Academy) in the girls Class 4 poll. The Princeton Lady Tigers are ranked #7 in the initial Class 1 poll.
