A high school basketball doubleheader between the Green City Gophers and Gallatin Bulldogs, postponed due to weather in December, will be played on Monday, February 6th at North Central Missouri College’s Ketcham Community Center.
Green City and Gallatin were originally scheduled to play as part of Holiday Hoops. The boys game, in particular, was highly anticipated, with the Gophers (Class 1) and Bulldogs (Class 2) both highly regarded across the region. Green City, in the MBCA rankings released on December 28th, is ranked #3 in Class 1, with Gallatin, despite an unbeaten record, remaining the top team in the receiving votes category in Class 2, although it is notable that #6 ranked Putnam County has a 30 point head-to-head loss to Gallatin and a loss to Grundy County in in the month of December.
The doubleheader between the Gophers and Bulldogs will be carried live on Hot Country Z 101.7, with the girls game at 6 o’clock and boy’s game to follow. Concessions will be available, with admission prices $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students and senior citizens. Gates open at 5 PM.
