The boys basketball rankings from the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association were released on Monday morning, setting up a Top-5 Class 1 matchup at the 12 Courts of Christmas in Kansas City on Saturday.

Platte Valley is ranked #2, with PV taking on #3 ranked Green City at Hy-Vee Arena in Kansas City on Saturday at noon.  Of the Gophers victories to start the season, two are against Grundy R-V/Newtown-Harris, with the Panthers ranked #10, with 14 points, in the poll.  Hardin-central is ranked #8, Higbee #7, and South Iron top ranked in Class 1.

Grand River Conference squads Maysville and Putnam County are just outside of the Top 10 in the Class 2 rankings, with both programs in the ‘receiving votes’ category.  The Wolverines and Midgets were impressive in conference play on Tuesday night, winning home games against South Harrison and Gallatin in comfortable fashion.
