The Gilman City Ladyhawks opened softball season on Thursday night with a 10-9 victory over HDC Conference rival Grundy R-V in a rare home game on the 2017 schedule. With a trip to Stewartsville looming two nights away, Sports Director Tom Johnson spoke with Ladyhawks coach Holly Preston on Tuesday afternoon.
