Germany has shown its love for the NFL once again as live American football returns for a second consecutive season. Fans in Germany are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to watch the league’s top stars, as evidenced by the rapid sell-out of tickets for the Miami Dolphins-Kansas City Chiefs game scheduled for November 5 in Frankfurt.
According to reports, tickets for the game were sold out within 15 minutes of going on sale this week. Site traffic for the game on Vivid Seats saw a significant spike of 753% from Monday to Tuesday. Currently, the Dolphins-Chiefs game has the second-highest average ticket price ($854) of the entire NFL season, trailing only the New England Patriots’ home opener honoring Tom Brady ($939).
In addition to the Dolphins-Chiefs matchup, Frankfurt Stadium, home to Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt, will also host a game between the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts on November 12. Tickets for this game will go on sale on July 11, with the registration window already closed.
After a pause due to the pandemic, the NFL is making a strong comeback with five international games scheduled for this season. Among these games, the Jacksonville Jaguars will be playing in two of the three London games.
Earlier this year, an NFL team owner mentioned the possibility of an international division of teams in the future. While the logistics of having teams based overseas may pose challenges, the NFL fever in Europe, especially in Germany, is undeniable.
