The Trenton Lady Bulldogs welcomed Putnam County to Riverside Country Club on Monday afternoon, with four players for THS and two players from Unionville playing in unseasonably hot and humid conditions over nine holes.

Trenton put up a team score of 233, with senior Werthen Gass putting up a score of 43 to win medalist honors over her teammate, runner-up Maci Henson with 56.  Molly Parker of Putnam County had the top score for the Lady Midget side with 59, while Mari Atup shot 64 for Trenton, Shaylea Vestal 68 for PC, and Josie Chumbley 70 for the Lady Bulldogs.  Trenton’s Oakley Madden withdrew due to illness.

Trenton Coach Travis Mullenix told KTTNSports.com told “Werthen was very consistent.  She left a couple of strokes out there with her putter, but overall put together a pretty east 43.  Maci didn’t play too bad, she just had a few too many triple bogeys.  With a little more fine tuning of her swing, she can easily drop a stroke a hole, and that will make a world of different heading into district play!  Mari and Josie gained some more experience which is what this year is about for them….going out and having fun and learning the basics of the game.”
