Gallatin wins District 4 golf title, advancing to state in Columbia

The Gallatin Bulldogs, with a team score of 368, claimed the team championship at the Class 1, District 4 boys golf tournament at the Excelsior Springs Golf Club on Monday afternoon.  Joining Gallatin as the team representative from District 4 is Kansas City Lutheran, with a runner-up total of 381.  Rock Port was third (387), Maysville fourth (394), and King City tied Stanberry for fifth place, with both finishing with scores of 413.  

There was a three-way tie atop the leaderboard, with Gallatin’s Jack Donovan matching Maysville’s Jace Harms and Stanberry’s Jordan Wright, all at 89.  Isaac Bird of Gallatin was fourth place at 90, with Gallatin’s Payton Feiden tying King City’s Brady Armfield for 10th place, with a score of 94.

Other teams advancing to the Class 1 state event (Monday and Tuesday, 5/15 and 5/16) are Lockwood and McAuley Catholic from District 3, Salisbury and Marceline from District 2, with St. Vincent and Linn coming from District 1.
