Gallatin wins Class 1, Section 4 golf tournament, Jett Simmons shoots five under par

The Gallatin Bulldogs dominated the field at the Mozingo Golf Course in Maryville on Monday afternoon, as the Bulldogs shot a team score of 307 to win the Class 1, Section 4 tournament.  Gallatin will advance its entire team to next week’s Class 1 state tournament in Nixa, along with rival Penney, as the Hornets finished runner-up with a score of 352.

Albany finished third at 388, followed by Mid-Buchanan (401), and Orrick (436).  

Gallatin’s Jett Simmons cruised to the medalist honors, blistering Mozingo for a round of 5 under par.  Gallatin’s Logan Burns and Hamilton’s Ethan Green shot four over par to tie for second place, with Penney’s Wyatt Gregory, Albany’s Caden Wilson, and Gallatin’s Bradley Rhoades shooting 7 over par for a fourth place tie.

In addition to the Gallatin and Hamilton squads, others advancing to the state tournament are Stanberry’s Mitchell Carroll (+12, 7th place), Ridgeway’s Ethan Claycomb (+18, 10th place), Norborne’s Logan Korff and Maysville’s Austin Sweiger (+19, 11th place tie), Stanberry’s Cole Craig and South Harrison’s Grant Taylor (+20, 14th place tie), and King City’s Davis Washburn (+26, 20th place).
