The Gallatin Lady Bulldogs welcomed Trenton and Lawson to the Daviess County Country Club on Monday afternoon, for a girls golf triangular serving as a warm-up for Tuesday’s Gallatin Tournament.
Gallatin, playing on its home course, had a strong day, led by individual medalist Elle Copple, who shot a nine-hole score of 52. Close behind Copple for GHS, with 53, was Courtney Crose, with Claire Hemry firing a 54. Other Gallatin totals came from Libby Endicott at 60, and Sarah Morrison with a 72.
Gallatin’s team score of 219 outdistanced Lawson’s total of 273, with the Lady Cards individual totals including 55 from Nina Schaedel, 69 for Haley Johnson, Morgan Hubbard at 73, 76 for Elaina Hurst, and 84 from Aubrey Cox.
Trenton brought its two junior golfers for the meet, short of the four necessary for a team score. Mari Atup shot 65 and classmate Josie Chumbley 75 for the Lady Bulldogs.
The Chillicothe Lady Hornets were in action on Monday afternoon, for a quadrangular in Cameron hosted by the Lady Dragons. Cameron took the team championship with a score of 192, followed by Benton’s runner-up total of 198. Chillicothe shot 209 while Lafayette also had a handful of golfers on the course, although falling short of the four needed to post a team score.
Chillicothe’s Hallie Jones earned medalist honors on Monday with a nine-hole score of 39, with other Hornet totals coming from Skylar Powers at 48, Abby Hayen 57, and Brooklynn Williams at 65.
