The Gallatin Bulldogs edged the Trenton Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon, winning the 2020 Grand River Conference Wrestling Tournament at Maysville High School.  GHS accumulated 151 points, five more than Trenton’s 146.  Third place Maysville had 116 1/2, followed by South Harrison, North Andrew, Albany, Polo, and Stanberry.

Gallatin boasts five champions in Ross Critten, Keegan Allen, Draven Wright, Rodell Sperry, and Drayten Harris, while Trenton had three titlists in Hunter McAtee, who went 4-0 with four pins at 106 pounds, Sam Gibson with four pins and an injury default triumph at 170, and Mark Trump, who pinned all three of his opponents in emerging at the top of the 182 pound weight class.

Trenton’s Brice Gibler won his first three matches by pin then defaulted because of injury, placing runner-up at 132 pounds.  THS Coach Charlie Bacon said Gibler was unable to continue after a hard throw, but will be able to continue his season toward districts.

Also with winning records for THS were Noah Lewis, capturing a 4-1 mark and runner-up status at 160, and Kaden Owen, with a 3-2 record at 145 pounds and a third place finish.
