The Gallatin Lady Bulldogs team score of 237 was barely enough for the hosts to take a four-school golf competition on Thursday afternoon at the Daviess County Country Club, with Trenton’s score of 241 just four strokes off the winning pace. Hamilton and Mercer brought a total of three golfers to the event, not enough to post official team scores.
Despite being the only golfer representing Penney High School, Lady Hornet golfer Izzy Potts shined, with a nine-hole round of 50 giving her the individual title. There was a three-way tie for the runner-up spot, with Trenton’s Reece Weldon joining the Gallatin tandem of Courtney Crose and LeAyrah Leeper both at 52. Other Gallatin scores were Hannah Critten at 66, Jayda Curtis-Mazur at 67, and Katie Lynch shooting 71.
In addition to Weldon’s 52, other THS scores were 57 from Kinsley Otto, 63 from Abbye Johnson, a 69 from Ali Cox, and 70 turned in by Morgan Brown.
Mercer had a 69 from Peyton Wells and 77 from Lily Stark.
