Gallatin Bulldogs win GRC Wrestling Tournament

Gallatin had five individual champions and ran away with the Grand River Conference wrestling tournament on Saturday, hosted by Trenton High School.

Gallatin accumulated 182 1/2 points to win by 63 points over second-place Maysville, which had 119 1/2 points.  Trenton was a distant third with 90 points, followed by Polo, South Harrison, Stanberry, North Andrew, and Albany.

Gallatin’s champions were Ross Critten at 106 pounds, Drayton Harris at 132, Wyatt Bird at 145, Declan Schweizer at 152, and Graydee Rains at 195.

Maysville had four champions, with Conner Berry at 113, Dylan Wade at 120, Kaleb Popplewell at 138, and Jake Post at 182.

The other GRC Tournament champions were Drake Eychaner of North Andrew at 126 pounds, Drew Rorebeck of Trenton at 160, Mason Doll of South Harrison at 170 pounds, Gunnar Martin of Polo at 220, and Elory Anderson of Stanberry at heavyweight.

Trenton finishes its regular season this week, with a trip to Higginsville on Thursday, and the Lexington Tournament on Saturday.
