Gallatin Bulldogs; Stanberry’s Marticke take GRC golf titles

The Grand River Conference boy’s golf championship was contested at the Veterans Memorial Golf Course in Cameron on Monday, with the Gallatin Bulldogs, with a team score of 363, and Stanberry High School’s Landon Marticke, with a round of 79, claiming the GRC titles.

Gallatin’s team score of 363 bested runner-up Milan’s 370, with South Harrison, at 372, finishing third place.  King City was fourth, with Trenton’s 418 good for sixth place.  Princeton was eighth at 428.

There was a tie for second place between Jaden Wyant of Putnam County and Brody Bird of Gallatin, both at 80, one stroke behind Marticke.  Milan’s top score, an 81 by Jerrett Courtney, was good for 4th place.

Other top 10 scores were 82 by Quinn Taylor of South Harrison, 88 from Gallatin’s Isaac Bird, 90 from Trenton High School’s Kiefer Tolson, matching 91’s from Caden Littrell of South Harrison and Michael Pipes of Milan, with King City’s Nick Simerly at 92.
