With the regular season in the rear view mirror, and district play beginning, the Grand River Conference has honored its best basketball players from the 2016-2017 season, with selections to first-team, second-team, and honorable mention for both the eastern and western divisions of the 16-team league.

Four players from the Grand River Conference championship teams from Trenton High School were named first-team All-GRC East, with senior Whitley Richman named in unanimous fashion to the girl’s first team, joined by sophomore Ainsley Tolson.  The remainder of the girls first team includes Princeton sophomore Jaelyn Thomas, Gallatin sophomore Karley Salmon, Putnam County senior Jade Varner, and the South Harrison backcourt duo of junior Carley Wilhelm and sophomore Katey Wilhelm.  Whitley Richman, of the seven players, was the only unanimous selection.

All seven boys named All-GRC East were named unanimously, with two Trenton Bulldog seniors, Connor Cotton and Spencer Harris, joined by Milan senior Wyatt Bohle, Putnam County senior Calvin Heidenwith, Polo junior James Fleener, Gallatin junior Jett Simmons, and South Harrison junior Treyton Campbell.

The 2nd-team All-GRC East girls team includes Trenton sophomores Salem Croy and Mykah Hurley, along with Princeton sophomore Payton Goodin, Gallatin senior Taylor Sloan, and Milan senior Sam DeRyke.  Boys second-teamers include Trenton senior Corbyn Guile, South Harrison sophomore Cody Weller, Milan freshman Ryan Dabney, and Princeton junior Calvin Berwanger.
