Four area wrestlers placed first in their weight division at the boys Class 1 state tournament that concluded Saturday night in Columbia. The area state champions are Cooper Fisher of Marceline at 113 pounds, Donavan Parn of Brookfield at 126, Graydee Rains of Gallatin at 220 pounds, and Brooks Baker of Brookfield at heavyweight.
The finals saw Fisher win by 4-2 decision over Jason Shaw of Whitfield. Parn pinned Colton Fisher of Marceline at the 2:58 mark. Rains decisioned Keith Miley of Whitfield 5-2 in the finals. Baker pinned Jartavias Maltbia of New Madrid County Central in their title match. The time of the fall was two minutes.

Andon Allen of Gallatin was fifth at 106 pounds. Cooper Fisher of Marceline was first and Dawson Fansher of North Andrew was fourth, both at 113 pounds. Ross Critten of Gallatin was third at 120 pounds. Donavan Parn of Brookfield was first, Colton Fisher of Marceline 2nd, and Ayden Wayne of Gallatin sixth, all at 126 pounds. Wyatt Segar of Polo was runner-up at 132. Drake Eychaner of North Andrew was fifth at 138. Clayton Stallo of Marceline was second at 145. Cullen Bruner of Marceline was fifth at 152. Tom Crouse of Gallatin was fifth at 160 pounds. Drayton Harris of Gallatin was sixth at 170. Seth Cupp of Marceline was fourth at 182. Trenton’s Jadan Whitney was third and Cole Gripka of Maysville fifth, both at 195.
Graydee Rains of Gallatin was first at 220. Brooks Baker of Brookfield was first at heavyweight.
In Class 2, Colton Sewell of Chillicothe was third at 132 pounds.
Here was just one class for the girls. Top four finishers from the immediate area were Celeste Green of Cameron in fourth place at 103 pounds, while McKenzie Gilreath of Maysville was second and Aiva Mayer of Carrollton fourth, both at 110 pounds. Medals were awarded to the top four finishers in the girls tournament.
Lebanon won the girls team title. The boys team championships went to Whitfield (Class 1), Monett (Class 2), Neosho (Class 3), and CBC (Class 4).
The Class 1 standings were Whitfield with 192 points, Seneca second at 126.5, followed by Lathrop, Lawson, fifth place Marceline at 103, and sixth place Gallatin with 92 points. Brookfield was ninth, with Trenton’s 21 points good for 28th place.
Trenton’s Jadan Whitney had five victories and one loss enroute to his third place finish at 195 pounds. Trenton’s two other representatives in the state tournament, Noah Lewis at 160 pounds and Mark Trump at 195, each had one victory and two losses at state.
