Jontay Porter, former forward for the University of Missouri, has been named to the Chicago Bulls’ roster for the NBA 2K24 Summer League. Porter, 23, has been in the NBA system since 2020 and most recently played for the Wisconsin Herd, the Milwaukee Bucks’ G-League affiliate. In the 2022 G-League season, he averaged 13.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. Porter previously played for the Memphis Grizzlies’ organization and will now have the opportunity to showcase his skills for the Bulls.

Dru Smith, former guard for the University of Missouri, has signed a two-way contract with the Miami Heat. Smith, 25, played three seasons for the Tigers from 2019 to 2021. Although he went undrafted in 2021, he has played 15 games between the Heat and the Brooklyn Nets. Smith has primarily been an affiliate player for the Heat, spending time with their G-League team, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

While the Heat have not announced if Smith will participate in the Summer League, the NBA Las Vegas Summer League will take place from Friday through Monday, July 17. Prior to that, several teams will participate in the California Classic on Monday and Wednesday, as well as the Salt Lake City Summer League on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

In addition to Porter and Smith, there are other former University of Missouri players who will be participating in the Summer League, including Kobe Brown (Los Angeles Clippers), D’Moi Hodge (Los Angeles Lakers), and Mark Smith (Denver Nuggets).
