The Kansas City Chiefs faced a setback as linebacker Darius Harris, a key starter in their Super Bowl LVII championship campaign, agreed to terms on a contract with their AFC West rival, the Las Vegas Raiders.
Harris, who played college football for Middle Tennessee State, is expected to play a significant role in the Raiders’ defense as they undergo a rebuilding phase following the departure of quarterback Derek Carr in the offseason.
The specifics of Harris’ new deal have not been disclosed yet, but it is believed to be a reasonable contract for the Raiders, who currently have limited cap space of approximately $5 million, as reported by overthecap.com.
During his time with the Chiefs, Harris made four starts last season and contributed 43 combined tackles and one and a half sacks during the team’s journey to the playoffs. However, he had a quieter postseason, only registering four solo tackles in the Chiefs’ three playoff games.
