The high school football season is quickly approaching, with practices for the fall opening for business on Monday, August 8th, leaving teams three weeks of work to prepare for the season openers on Friday, August 26th.
In eight-man football, preseason jamborees are planned for 10 different locations on the night of Friday, August 19th. Some of the jamborees will be three teams deep, and others four teams, with start times varying from 6 to 7 o’clock.
Four Grand River Conference Western Division squads will meet up at Worth County High School in Grant City, with the Tigers hosting Albany, King City, and Stanberry. Two other GRC squads will be part of a four-team jamboree at North Andrew High School in Rosendale, with the Cardinals welcoming in Pattonsburg, DeKalb, and Platte Valley. The jamboree at North Andrew starts at 6 o’clock, with the action at Worth County at 7 o’clock.

Norborne/Hardin-Central, Northland Christian, and Orrick at Braymer – 7:00 PMÂ
Bishop LeBlond, Nodaway Valley, and Rock Port at East Atchison – 6:00 PMÂ
Northwest (Hughesville), Southwest Livingston at Keytesville – 6:00 PMÂ
Greenfield, Jasper, and Liberal at Lockwood – 6:00 PMÂ
Knox County at Schuyler County at North Shelby – 6:00 PMÂ
KC East Christian and Stewartsville-Osborn at St. Joseph Christian – 7:00 PMÂ
Concordia, St. Paul Lutheran, and Santa Fe at Sweet Springs – 6:00 PMÂ
College Heights, Drexel, Mound City, and South Holt are not scheduled to be in a jamboree at this time.
