According to a report from Edmonton based radio host Tyler Yaremchuk (TSN1260), the National Hockey League has decided to have Vancouver, British Columbia and Las Vegas, Nevada to serve as “hub cities” for the restart of the 2019-2020 season.

Although not officially announced by Commissioner Gary Bettman, if correct, the choice of the cities, home to the NHL’s Canucks (Vancouver) and Golden Knights (Las Vegas) would not be surprising, as both have been mentioned prominently in discussions.  All playoff games would be hosted in either Rogers Arena or T-Mobile Arena when play resumes, with the NHL aiming for July 30th.

The choice of Vancouver and Vegas would eliminate eight other cities from the NHL’s consideration of use as hubs, including Edmonton, Chicago, Toronto, Columbus, Dallas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Pittsburgh.
