Although a final score from the game is not yet available, KTTN Sports has learned that the East Buchanan Bulldogs beat the North Platte Panthers in boys basketball on Monday night, advancing into Thursday night’s consolation final of the KCI Conference’s tournament at Plattsburg.
East Buchanan, the #3 boys seed in the tournament, had lost on Saturday to the host Plattsburg Tigers, 58-56. The Bulldogs opponent on Thursday night will be the Lathrop Mules a 47-37 winner over West Platte on Monday night.
In girls consolation semifinal action, the Lathrop Lady Mules defeated West Platte, 39-31, pushing LHS into Thursday night’s (5:00) consolation final with Plattsburg, as the Lady Tigers downed Lawson on Monday night, 49-36.
The championship semifinals, both girls and boys, are scheduled for tonight (Tuesday night) at Plattsburg High School, starting with the #4 seed Penney Lady Hornets looking to knock off top-seeded Mid-Buchanan at 4:30, while the #2 seed East Buchanan Lady Bulldogs battle #6 seed North Platte at 6. At 7:30, the top-seeded Hamilton boys play rival Lawson, with the #2 seed Mid-Buchanan boys taking on Plattsburg at 9 o’clock.
The consolation finals and girls third place game are Thursday night, with the boys third place game and girls and boys championship games to be played on Friday night.
