Hunter Dozier hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the 7th inning, while veteran left-fielder Andrew Benintendi threw out the potential game-tying run at home plate to end the game, as the Kansas City Royals defeated the Houston Astros on Wednesday night, 3-2 at Kauffman Stadium.
Dozier found a slider from Houston reliever Blake Taylor to his liking in the 7th, putting the Royals on top for good. Steve Physioc had the call on Bally Sports Kansas City:Â
With two outs in the top of the 9th inning, Jose Altuve stepped to the plate against Kansas city reliever Scott Barlow, with tying run Chas McCormick on second base:
Nicky Lopez had three hits for the Royals, with Domingo Tapia earning the win out of the bullpen, while Barlow amassed his 7th save of the season.
The Astros and Royals play Game #4 of the series this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:15, with a 12:30 pregame show on KTTN AM 1600 and FM 98.3.
