Current, in first-ever playoff appearance, to play for NWSL title

Kansas City’s women’s professional soccer team, the Current, have advanced to the championship game of the NWSL, courtesy of a 2-0 victory over the Seattle OL Reign in Sunday night’s semifinal round.

Alex Loera and Kristen Hamilton scored goals for Kansas City, with a large crowd watching the game back home at Kansas City’s Power and Light District.  OL Reign hosted the game as the #1 seed in the tournament.

In a neutral site championship game in Washington, DC on Saturday night, October 29th at 7 o’clock, the Current will take on the #2 seed Portland Thorns FC.
