Polo’s Shelby Copeland threw a one-hit shutout at the Stewartsville Lady Cardinals on Wednesday night, leading the Lady Panthers to a 14-0 win in non-conference softball action. The Lady Panthers got all the offense they would need in the sixth inning, scoring seven times, highlighted by a Taylor Wagner homer. Copeland went six innings for PHS, striking out 11 batters with no walks, and allowing just one base hit, that coming in the sixth inning.
Polo’s offense racked up 14 hits in the win, with Kallie Heil, Emily Smith, Wagner, Abby Bolling, and Jenee Qualman all collecting multiple hits for the Lady Panthers.
Other Wednesday night scores were Stanberry over Albany 12-2 in GRC Western Division play, Hamilton winning over Brookfield 11-1, and Pattonsburg claiming a 13-12, 10 inning win over rival Gilman City.
