The Class 1, Region 4 (combining Districts 13, 14, 15, and 16) first and second teams for softball have been announced, with four members of the state qualifiers from Platte Valley named first-team.
Platte Valley senior Sarah Chor is a first-team pitcher, joined by North Harrison junior Payton Craig and Stanberry junior Kalie Peterson. Â First-team catchers are Maysville junior Brea Blanton, Platte Valley senior Kayla Schmitz, and Norborne senior Katie Wood.
The six-member first-team All-Region infield has Platte Valley senior Kelsi McQuinn, DeKalb senior Rylee Crockett, Polo senior Averie Heil, Stanberry junior Taylor McQueen, Norborne senior Whitnie Rimmer, and Mercer senior Nicole Kost.
The four first-team outfielders are King City junior Grace Schottel, Norborne junior Emma Thoeni, Albany senior Maryeah Martin, and DeKalb junior Morgan Parsons.
The first-team utility player is Platte Valley junior Josie Deen.
Three members of the Princeton Lady Tigers were named All-Region second teamers, with senior Haley Johnson joined by freshmen Lindsey Batson and Lacie Lewis. Â Others from the Grand River Conference on the second team are Braymer junior Maggie Phillips, Maysville sophomores Cat Whiteman and Stephanie Hyatt, Polo senior Joely Hicks, and Stanberry senior Cameron Gage and sophomore Kierstyn McMillen.
The second team is filled out with DeKalb sophomore Kirstian Goddard and senior Courtney Shelby, Hardin-Central junior Lacey Logsdon, Norborne senior Hannah Mansur, North Harrison junior Brandy Rivet and senior Alyssa Craig, and North Nodaway senior Maddison Thompson and sophomore Keegan O’Riley.
