Due to what Major League Baseball is calling an “abundance of caution” to get more testing done within the organization, tonight’s Cincinnati Reds game in Kansas City against the Royals has been postponed, with a doubleheader tentatively scheduled for Wednesday afternoon to make up the postponement.
Cincinnati’s series last weekend with the Pittsburgh Pirates was postponed after one player within the Reds organization came back with a positive test. MLB is hopeful that the Reds situation doesn’t balloon into multiple cases, which happened in Miami and St. Louis, resulting in multiple postponements for both the Marlins and Cardinals.
Game 1 of Wednesday’s doubleheader will start at 4:05 in the afternoon (central time), with a 3:30 pregame on KTTN AM 1600. Game Two will follow the first game, with an approximate 30-40 minute break in-between. The second game will be aired on both KTTN AM 1600 and KTTN FM 92.3. With Major League Baseball rules in place for the 2020 season, both ends of the doubleheader will be scheduled for just seven innings, instead of the traditional nine.
