The Chillicothe Hornets, playing one of the stalwart teams in this year’s Midland Empire Conference race, lost 58-43 to the Maryville Spoofhounds on Thursday night, in the boys semifinals of the Cameron Invitational Tournament.

John Zimmerman had 18 points and Eli Dowis 12 for the ‘Hounds, while Chillicothe’s Cade Snyder had 22 points.  However, Maryville’s balanced scoring proved to be decisive, with five young men scoring seven or more points.  Westley Brandsgaard had a nine-point night for CHS.

Maryville will take on Lawson at 3 o’clock Saturday for the boys title at Cameron High School, as the Cardinals upset #2 seed Higginsville in Thursday’s second semifinal, 54-42.
