The Chillicothe Mudcats wood-bat, collegiate-level summer baseball team has named Jack Winters, the pitching coach at Centenary College in Hackettstown, New Jersey, as the new coach of the Mudcats for 2017.  In Chillicothe, Winters will bring Ken Durling with him to help with the Mudcats, with Durling currently serving as an assistant at Centenary.

Winters will succeed Tai Mitchell as Mudcats Head Coach, with Mitchell deciding against returning for a fourth season in Chillicothe shortly after the 2016 season ended.

Chillicothe’s franchise plays its home games at Shaffer Park as a member of the MINK League, a group of eight (soon to be 9) teams in a league originally named after the states of Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas.  The MINK League will be adding a ninth team next year, with the addition of Jefferson City to a group that includes Chillicothe, Clarinda, St. Joseph, Sedalia, Joplin, Nevada, Branson, and Ozark.
