The Kansas City Chiefs found their Super Bowl form in the second quarter of Sunday afternoon’s AFC West battle in Las Vegas, as Mahomes threw for 298 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Chiefs to a 31-17 comeback win over the Raiders.

Andy Reid secured his 125th career win as the Chiefs’ coach, surpassing Hank Stram for the team record and becoming the first NFL coach to hold this distinction for two teams.

Kansas City (8-3) was down 14-0 in the second quarter but leveled the score by halftime and dominated afterward. Isiah Pacheco rushed for two touchdowns, and Rashee Rice caught eight passes for 107 yards and a touchdown.

Josh Jacobs rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown for the Raiders (5-7), breaking the Chiefs’ 12-game streak of not allowing a 100-yard rusher. Las Vegas’ Aidan O’Connell passed for 248 yards and a touchdown.

The Chiefs have held 11 consecutive opponents to 24 or fewer points. They shut down the Raiders in the second half, limiting them to 113 yards after Las Vegas gained 245 in the first two quarters.

Kansas City extended its winning streak to six games against the Raiders, winning 16 of the past 18 meetings. The Chiefs rebounded from a 21-17 loss to Philadelphia on Monday night, showing improved performance, especially in the receiving department.

The Raiders initially took the lead, but missed opportunities cost them. Kansas City responded with two second-quarter touchdowns to tie the game at halftime. The Chiefs took a 21-14 lead early in the second half and secured full control in the fourth quarter with Mahomes connecting with Rice for a 39-yard touchdown.

Injuries for the Chiefs: WR Mecole Hardman (thumb) and RB Jerick McKinnon (groin) did not play. WR Skyy Moore (knee), T Donovan Smith (neck and shoulder), and G Trey Smith (foot) were injured, but Reid said none were serious.

Injuries for the Raiders: DE Maxx Crosby (knee) started and played after being listed as doubtful. He even had a sack. LT Kolton Miller (shoulder) played after missing the two previous games. S Marcus Epps (neck and shoulder) went out in the second quarter but returned in the third period.

Up next, the Chiefs play at Green Bay on Sunday night, while the Raiders are off and will return Dec. 10 to host Minnesota.
