Behind three touchdown passes and 269 yards from Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon, 30-27. The win is Kansas City’s 10th of the season, representing the 10th consecutive season that the franchise has reached double-digits in victories.
Tight end Noah Gray caught two of Mahomes scoring passes, with DeAndre Hopkins adding a touchdown catch for the Chiefs. For Carolina, young quarterback Bryce Young continued to show improvement, throwing for a touchdown and 262 yards on 21 of 35 accuracy. Carolina had a two-game winning streak snapped, falling to 3-8. Eddy Pineiro hit four field goals for the Panthers, who could point to struggles in the red zone for the loss in Charlotte.
Eight of Kansas City’s victories this season have been one-score margins, as the Chiefs continue to win, but not in decisive fashion. Two weeks ago, Kansas City blocked a potential game-winning field goal by the Denver Broncos in the final seconds of the fourth quarter.
This Friday, AFC West rival Las Vegas travels to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium to play the Chiefs in the National Football League’s first-ever game to be played on Black Friday. Amazon Prime Video will have coverage of the 2 o’clock contest between the Raiders and Chiefs.
