The offseason retooling of the Kansas City Chiefs continued on Wednesday, with the Chicago Bears signing veteran running back Damien Williams, who will have a legacy in Kansas City that included two iconic touchdowns, including the game-clincher, in the fourth quarter of the team’s Super Bowl 54 win over the San Francisco 49ers.
In six NFL seasons, with his first four in Miami, Williams has rushed for 1,231 years and 12 touchdowns, in addition to 138 catches for 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns.
He opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns. His contract with the Bears, where he will reunite with former Chiefs offensive coordinator and former Bears head coach Matt Nagy, is for one season.
