Kansas City Chiefs secondary/cornerbacks coach Sam Madison is leaving the franchise after three seasons, returning to Miami for a similar job with the Dolphins, where he played as a four-time Pro Bowl selection from 1997 to 2005.  In Madison’s first season with Kansas City, the Chiefs broke a 50-year drought with a Super Bowl championship win over the San Francisco 49ers.  Before retiring, Madison won a Super Bowl with the New York Giants in 2007.  The Dolphins have been busy in adding assistant coaches following the recent hire of Mike McDaniel as head coach.

The move of Madison to south Florida becomes the latest move affecting Andy Reid’s assistant coaching staff at One Arrowhead Drive, as linebacker coach Matt House became the new defenisve coordinator at LSU, quarterback coach Mike Kafka left for the offensive coordinator position with the New York Giants, and executive director of player personnel Ryan Poles departed for Chicago to become the Bears new general manager.

Kansas City’s offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, for the moment, remains with the Chiefs, but with an expiring contract, and with no head coaching offers apparently coming in the near future, his future with the Chiefs appears murky.
