The Kansas City Chiefs walloped the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday afternoon at Allegiant Stadium by a score of 31-13.  The result finished a 14-3 regular season for Kansas City, good for the #1 seed in the AFC.  However, due to the game cancellation from the prior Monday night with the Bills and Bengals, the Chiefs are not guaranteed home field advantage throughout the upcoming AFC playoffs.  The NFL has announced that if the Bills and Chiefs meet in the AFC Championship Game, it would be played at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The Chiefs set a new franchise record with their 17th consecutive game of at least 300 yards of offense.  The #1 seed assures Kansas City of a first-round bye this weekend, with a second-round game at Arrowhead Stadium on the weekend of January 21-22.

The Raiders finished a disappointing season under first year coach Josh McDaniels at 6-11, with three straight losses, a 1-4 record in the season’s final five games, and a two-game benching of quarterback Derek Carr sending Vegas into the offseason with an abundance of unanswered questions.

Other NFL scores from the final weekend of the regular season were:

Atlanta 30, Tampa Bay 17

Buffalo 35, New England 23

Minnesota 29, Chicago 13

Cincinnati 27, Baltimore 16

Houston 32, Indianapolis 31

Miami 11, NY Jets 6

Carolina 10, New Orleans 7

Pittsburgh 28, Cleveland 14

Denver 31, LA Chargers 28

Philadelphia 22, NY Giants 16

San Francisco 38, Arizona 13

Seattle 19, LA Rams 16 (OT)

Washington 26, Dallas 6

Detroit 20, Green Bay 16

The Lions upset win at Green Bay on Sunday night knocked the Packers out of the NFC playoffs, with the Seattle Seahawks grabbing the #7 seed.  The Seahawks will play the #2 seeded San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, California at Saturday afternoon at 3:30 on FOX.  Saturday night’s game will feature the Los Angeles Chargers at AFC South champion Jacksonville at 7:15 PM on NBC.

On Sunday afternoon, the AFC East champion Buffalo Bills host Miami at 12 PM on CBS, followed by the Giants at Minnesota at 3:30 on FOX, with the Ravens and Bengals meeting in Cincinnati at 8:15 on NBC.

Monday night’s game will see Dallas at Tampa Bay, with a 7:15 PM kickoff on ABC and ESPN.  The Chiefs and the NFC’s #1 seed, the Philadelphia Eagles, have the first-round byes.

For the first time since 1947, the Chicago Bears have the #1 overall pick of the NFL Draft, to be held in Kansas City from April 27th through the 29th.  The Bears lost to the Vikings 29-13 on Sunday, with the Houston Texans 32-31 win over the Colts pushing the Texans down to the #2 overall pick.  By virtue of the Russell Wilson trade, Denver is sending the #3 overall pick to Seattle.
