The Kansas City Chiefs have signed former Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Jarran Reed to a one-year, $5 million contract, giving the team size and run-stuffing ability to team with Chris Jones.
Reed’s contract, with bonuses, could boost to $7 million. The deal was finished on Sunday night. Kansas City will be adding the second-round pick of the Seahawks from the 2016 draft. Reed spent all five of his pro seasons in Seattle, amassing 10 1/2 sacks in 2018 but slumping to just 6 1/2 last season, all while being better known as a run stopper.
Off the field, Reed found himself in an alleged domestic disturbance in 2019 that resulted in a six-game suspension from the NFL.
