The Kansas City Chiefs added another player to the injury list during Monday’s padded practices at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, as rookie defensive end Joshua Kaindoh suffered a hamstring pull, forcing him to leave early.

Like the rest of the Show-Me State, St. Joseph was sweltering on Monday, with heat and humidity providing for a heat advisory and dangerous conditions for practice.

Recapping the day at camp, courtesy of Chiefs.com, were the “Voice of the Chiefs” Mitch Holthus and reporter Matt McMullen:

Offensive lineman missing practice due to injury were Darryl Williams (COVID protocol), Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (hand), Mike Remmers (back spasms), and Kyle Long (leg).  However, their absences gave opportunities for young lineman like rookie center Creed Humphrey, a product of the University of Oklahoma:

The heat and humidity tested all of the Chiefs players, according to returning offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy:

Practice sessions for the Kansas City Chiefs continued at 9:15 on Tuesday morning.  The preseason opener will be Saturday night at 7:30 from Santa Clara, California against the San Francisco 49ers.
