Seven girls on the Trenton High School softball team were honored with All-District 15 selections this week. Five of the girls were named to the first team, while two earned second team status. Five schools (Trenton, South Harrison, Penney (Hamilton), Carrollton, and Lexington) made up District 15. Trenton won the district tournament with a 7-0 semifinal win over Hamilton on October 6th and a 3-0 shutout of Lexington on October 8th.
Named first team All-District 15 from THS were sophomore starting pitcher Ainsley Tolson, who dominated the tournament with a one-hitter in the win over Hamilton, and a perfect game with 15 strikeouts against Lexington. Tolson’s catcher, fellow sophomore Salem Croy, was named first-team, along with senior third baseman Jaylen Neff, senior first baseman Whitley Richman, and senior outfielder Tenna Roberts.
Others named first-team were Hamilton freshman pitcher Graysen Prothero and junior outfielder Mati Park, Lexington sophomore infielder Chandler Himbury, junior infielder Laci Phillips, senior outfielder Cori Bear, and senior utility player Alex Miller, South Harrison sophomore infielder Katey Wilhelm, and Carrollton’s senior infielder Savannah Land.
Eight young ladies were chosen to the All-District second team, with Trenton junior second baseman Jayden Roeder and sophomore shortstop Mykah Hurley on the squad, joined by Carrollton senior outfielder Shariden Powell and freshman infielder Mackenzie Brown, Penney junior infielder McKauley Prothero and freshman infielder Gillian Gibler, and Lexington junior infielder Katy Payne and sophomore infielder Colby Crabtree.
