Champion Lady Hornets well represented on All-Midland Empire softball team

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets had four first-team selections to the Midland Empire Conference softball first-team, finishing off the season that saw a MEC title for CHS, the program’s first since 2011, and a postseason run that ended with a one-run loss to Savannah in a district title showdown at Danner Park.

Named first-team all-MEC from Chillicothe were pitcher Kinlei Boley, catcher Hope Helton, infielder Kirsten Dunn, and outfielders Sophia Luetticke and Mika Hibner.  Second-teamers from the Lady Hornets were pitcher Halle Rucker and infielder Brooke Horton, with infielder Breanna Pithan and outfielder Mollie Ellis gaining spots on the honorable mention team.

From Cameron, there were no Dragons named first-team all-conference.  However, second team honors went to pitcher Maddy Jessen, infielder Gracie Arth, and outfielder MaKayla Provin.  Cameron players named honorable mention were outfielder Jenna Clough and infielder Liberty Williams.
