The Gallatin Lady Bulldogs rallied against Trenton for the second time in a month, coming back from a five-point deficit to beat THS 47-42 in a Grand River Conference girls basketball contest from the GHS gymnasium.
Gallatin trailed 9-2 after the first quarter, but slowly saw its offense come to life in the second quarter. By the end of the third quarter, the lead had flipped to Gallatin, with the Lady Bulldogs holding on late.
Senior AnnaBelle Ball led a balanced Gallatin (7-4, 2-0) attack with 13 points, with Ashley Feiden adding 12 and Kallie Salmon 11 points.
Trenton, falling to 4-6 overall and 0-2 in the GRC, had 13 points from junior Mirena King, with Kaegan Croy contributing 10.
The Gallatin boys got payback against Trenton for a quarterfinal loss in the Gallatin Invitational Tournament, using an up-tempo pace and half-court press to scramble up Trenton’s plans, leading to a 67-51 victory. Gallatin (5-5, 1-1) was paced by 21 points from Boston Bell, with Jack Donovan adding 16 and Gavin Wilmes 13. Trenton, falling to 4-6 overall and 1-1 in the GRC, had a game-high 27 points from Kiefer Tolson with Gabe Novak contributing 15.
Trenton plays at Maysville on Friday night, with Gallatin hosting Polo. Milan plays at Putnam County, with coverage on KTTN FM 92.3.
