Bulldogs open week with win over North Andrew

The Trenton Bulldog baseball team picked up a victory over North Andrew on Monday night, holding on for an 8-5 triumph at Burleigh Grimes Field.  Trailing 2-1 going into the bottom of the 3rd inning, THS took control of the contest with a run to tie the game in the 3rd inning, followed by five runs in the 4th.  North Andrew trailed 8-2 going into the top of the 7th inning, and managed a three-run rally before the contest ended.

Mason Rongey produced a pair of hits from the leadoff spot for the Bulldogs, scoring three runs with an RBI.  Gabe Novak had a pair of RBI’s in a 1-for-4 effort.  Miller, Coleman, and Taylor all had two hit games.

Sam Gibson got the win from the pitching mound, going the first four innings, allowing a pair of hits and a pair of runs, although only one run was earned.  Gibson struck out six batters.  Miller went the final three innings, striking out four batters.
